हिन्दू पंचांग के अनुसार प्रत्येक वर्ष भाद्रपद मास के शुक्ल चतुर्थी को हिन्दुओं का प्रमुख त्यौहार गणेश चतुर्थी मनाया जाता है। गणेश पुराण में वर्णित कथाओं के अनुसार इसी दिन समस्त विघ्न बाधाओं को दूर करने वाले, कृपा के सागर तथा भगवान शंकर और माता पार्वती के पुत्र श्री गणेश जी का आविर्भाव हुआ था।

गणेश चतुर्थी पर्व 2016 (Ganesh Chaturthi Festival 2016)

भगवान विनायक के जन्मदिवस पर मनाया जानेवाला यह महापर्व महाराष्ट्र सहित भारत के सभी राज्यों में हर्सोल्लास पूर्वक और भव्य तरीके से आयोजित किया जाता है। इस साल गणेश चतुर्थी का पर्व 17 सितम्बर गुरुवार के दिन मनाया जाएगा।

गणेश चतुर्थी की कथा (Story of Ganesh Chaturthi)

कथानुसार एक बार मां पार्वती स्नान करने से पूर्व अपनी मैल से एक सुंदर बालक को उत्पन्न किया और उसका नाम गणेश रखा। फिर उसे अपना द्वारपाल बना कर दरवाजे पर पहरा देने का आदेश देकर स्नान करने चली गई। थोड़ी देर बाद भगवान शिव आए और द्वार के अन्दर प्रवेश करना चाहा तो गणेश ने उन्हें अन्दर जाने से रोक दिया। इसपर भगवान शिव क्रोधित हो गए और अपने त्रिशूल से गणेश के सिर को काट दिया और द्वार के अन्दर चले गए। जब मां पार्वती ने पुत्र गणेश जी का कटा हुआ सिर देखा तो अत्यंत क्रोधित हो गई। तब ब्रह्मा, विष्णु सहित सभी देवताओं ने उनकी स्तुति कर उनको शांत किया और भोलेनाथ से बालक गणेश को जिंदा करने का अनुरोध किया। महामृत्युंजय रुद्र उनके अनुरोध को स्वीकारते हुए एक गज के कटे हुए मस्तक को श्री गणेश के धड़ से जोड़ कर उन्हें पुनर्जीवित कर दिया।

गणेश चतुर्थी पूजा विधि (Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Vidhi)

इस महापर्व पर लोग प्रातः काल उठकर सोने, चांदी, तांबे अथवा मिट्टी के गणेश जी की प्रतिमा स्थापित कर षोडशोपचार विधि से उनका पूजन करते हैं। पूजन के पश्चात् नीची नज़र से चंद्रमा को अर्घ्य देकर ब्राह्मणों को दक्षिणा देते हैं। इस पूजा में गणपति को 21 लड्डुओं का भोग लगाने का विधान है। मान्यता के अनुसार इन दिन चंद्रमा की तरफ नही देखना चाहिए।
